今日は晴れ

朝はよく冷え、おかげで良い雪だ！わーい！

だったのですが…強風でリフトが止まったり動いたり。風の強い1日となりました。

It was sunny today.  The temperature was very low in the morning, so we had good snow!  Yay!!  We were excited, but all the sudden, strong winds started blowing.  Our gondola and lifts kept stopping and running due to the strong winds.

そんな中、先生の動きをジッと見つめ頑張っている生徒さんたちがいました。風が強くったってそんなこと気にもしていない様子で集中しています。

頼もしい先生がいるから、安心ですよね。先生がいるから、なんだか自分にも出来る気がしてきます。転んでも、がんばるぞ！と思えます。だって写真の中のあの親のような眼差しを見てください。きっとみんな上手になるぞぉ。

Under such severe weather conditions, there were students who were staring intently at the instructor's movements and doing their best.  They didn't seem to care if it were windy or not, and concentrated on their lesson.  You feel safe with a reliable instructor, don't you?  With an instructor, we feel like we can do it even if we fall down.  Look at that parental gaze of the instructor in the photo.  I'm sure everyone gets better at snowboarding!

そして毎週土曜日恒例の【現金5,000円争奪！大くじ引き大会】

予定時刻の14：30近くになってもあまり人が集まらず、「あれっ、みんなゴンドラで並び疲れちゃったのかな。。」と不安になりましたが、そこは呼び込み得意良い声お兄さんが解決してくれました。

写真を撮らせてくださいとお願いをすると、みんなで！と快諾してくださいました。66番のおねえさんだけでなくそのお仲間の方も良い人だった…！おめでとうございます！＆ありがとうございました！

Here's a photo of our event, "Draw to win 5,000 yen!" held every Saturday.  There were not many people gathering at 2:30 pm, the time that the event started.  I thought everyone was exhausted being in a long line for the gondola, but more and more people came to join the event when a staff with good voice started calling out.  The guest who won 5,000 yen and all her friends were so nice that they let me take a photo of them.  Thank you so much!  What about the weather tomorrow?  It's going to be cloudy then sunny.

『The Day』でしょう！

2～3日降り続いた雪がようやく止みました。

そして今朝は朝から青空が広がり、昨夜まで降り続けた雪と青空。

これぞまさに、『The Day』でした！！！！！

色々な大人の事情で朝一にコースには出れませんでしたが、朝二で出た際に撮った動画は↓↓からご覧くださーい！！

The snowfall that had lasted for a couple of days finally stopped today.  It cleared up this morning, and the snow piled up on the slopes and the blue skies made a perfect day!!!!!  I could not make it to the slopes first thing in the morning, but let me share the video I took later in the morning.  Please click the link above to watch the video!!

ちびっ子たちも大奮闘～！

午後は西日が差し始め、R1上部もさすがに凸凹していましたね。

でもちびっ子たちはお構いなし。雪も柔らかいし凸凹でもへっちゃらな様子で、皆で楽しんで滑っていました。

Children were struggling!  The slopes got the afternoon sun, and the upper part of Route 1 was indeed rough and bumpy in late afternoon.  The children did not care, though.  They did not seem to mind the rough slopes at all, and they seemed to enjoy skiing on the soft snow.

このコンディション、明日の飛び石連休の週末まで続けばいいんだけどなーと思いながら、ツリーゾーンへ！！

さすがにコースは荒れていましたが、ツリーゾーンは午後でしたがまだまだ未踏のエリアがたんまりと！！　既にエリアは日陰になっていて、これが47の雪質を高品質にキープするポイントなのですが、明日の朝まで温存できるのでは？！と。

明日の朝は粉雪の圧雪バーンとツリーのパウダーが狙えるのではないでしょうか！！！！！

Hoping that the great conditions of the slopes last until the weekend is over, I went to one of the tree areas!!  The area was rough, but there are still many pristine spots!!  The area was already in the shade, which is the key to keeping the fine quality of the snow.  Maybe we can keep it for tomorrow morning!?  Hopefully, you can enjoy groomed slopes and the tree areas with fine powder!!!!!

さて、こんな最高のコンディションのなか、ディガークルーは頑張って終日リメイク作業をしてくれました。

今日は47PARKSを終日クローズしてリメイク作業を行いました。

さて、どんなレイアウトになるのでしょうか？！

また、ハーフパイプも両サイドともビシっと整っていました。

明日のリニューアルオープンをお楽しみに！！！！！

On such a beautiful day with the perfect conditions, staff were working on remaking of 47 PARKS all day.  Due to the remodeling, the 47 PARKS was closed today.  I wonder how the new layout would look like!?  Both sides of the half-pipe were neatly formed as well.  Look forward to the reopening tomorrow!!!!!
 

雪・雪・雪・雪～～～

　

本日のブログ当番、鳥皮にポン酢と間違えてごま油をかけてしまったN婆です。結果、ただの油まみれ鳥皮でした。皆さまお料理の際は、集中して作業しましょうね。

さてさて、今日もよんななは雪まみれ状態でした。昨夜からの降雪は山頂付近で50㎝程。そこに更に日中もずっと降り続き、どこもかしこも雪まみれ。午後からは多少ボコボコしているものの、雪は軽くて滑りやすかったですよ。ただ今日は寒かった～～

Hakuba 47 was completely covered with snow today.  We had about 50cm of snow piled up during the night, and the snow has kept falling during the day, so there's tons of snow everywhere.  The slopes became rough and bumpy a little in the afternoon, but the snow was light and made the surface of the slopes easy to ski/snowboard.  Anyway, it was freezing cold today.

　パークはこんな日は、ガラガラです。ジブアイテムも雪ですぐに埋まっちゃって、メンテナンスも大変です。それでも今日もディガーはがんばってま～す。

There wasn't a crowd at the 47 PARKS since it was too snowy.  All items were sunk down into the deep snow.  It's not easy to maintain good conditions of the items being snowed under, but thanks to the staff, the items were well-maintained.

　パトロールスタッフもこんな日は大変です。雪で倒れたネットを直したり、危険な箇所は無いかとチェックしたり。膝まで雪に埋まりながら歩いて作業したり。ホント体力仕事です。毎日頭が下がります。そんな体力仕事ですが、この彼女実は、３児のママなんです。

よんななは、働くママにも優しくて、いろんな部署でママたちが活躍してます。子育てしながらでも働いてみたい！！と思ってるあなた、是非一緒に働きませんか？

Our patrol team has a lot to do on such a snowy day.  They need to fix the nets fallen down due to the snow, check for any dangerous spots, and so forth by walking in the knee-deep snow.  What a physically demanding job!  I admire them!

The patrol member in the photo is a mother of three.   Hakuba 47 has a good working environment for mothers, and mothers work energetically in various departments.  If you would like to balance work and childcare, why don't you come and work with us?

Here is a lunch box that the active mothers make for us.  Isn't it gorgeous?  It's more gorgeous than the dinner I make at home.  The staff members who work hard in the cold weather are comforted by the homemade lunch boxes every day.

どこもかしこもパウダースノー！

いやぁ～いっぱい降りました。積もりました。

と言うより、今も降り続いています。積もり続けています。

降雪、朝の時点で40ｃｍ。日中も30ｃｍ程度は積もったんじゃないでしょうか？

バスの上にもこんもりと積もっています。

この除雪が朝夕1日2回もあると思うと、なんで白馬なんかに住んでるのか考えてしまいます。

So much snow falling.  So much snow piled up.  Still falling...  Still being piled up...

We had 40cm of fresh snow piled up this morning and probably about another 30cm even during the day.  Look at the snow piled up on the buses.  Thinking of clearing the snow twice a day, one in the morning and the other in the evening, I wonder why I chose to live in Hakuba.

どこもかしこもパウダースノー！

お昼過ぎでも、まだまだ探せばパウダースノーが残ってました。

とは言っても、

ほとんどの場所が踏み荒らされて、滑りにくいコースとなっていましたが・・・。

This is another regular course on the slope.  Tons of powder everywhere!  We could find spots with lots of powder left even in the afternoon.  Having said that, most courses were already rough after so many people skied or snowboarded.

お昼過ぎでもパウダースノーが楽しめるのは、なんと言ってもツリーライディングゾーン！

ツリーライディングゾーンとは、簡単に言うとツリーをライディングできるゾーンなんです。もう少し噛み砕いて言うと、簡単登録の会員のみが入れる森の中が滑れるエリアになります。

会員登録は毎日8：00～12：00までの1時間ごとに行っています。約十分！

是非、会員になってツリーをライディングしましょう。

コース外滑走は、ダメ。ゼッタイ。

After all, the area where you can enjoy powder snow even in the afternoon is "Tree Riding Zone!"  To put it simple, the Tree Riding Zone is the area where you can run through the trees.  To make it more simple, the Tree Riding Zone is an unpatrolled, steep and technical section of trees open only for registered members.  The safety briefing is conducted every hour between 8:00 am and noon daily.  The required time for the briefing and registration is about 10 minutes!  Become a member and enjoy tree-riding!!  Do NOT ski or snowboard in the restricted area, by the way!

嵐の前の…ではなく、嵐の中での静けさ

早朝、営業開始前のベースエリアの様子。

写真では穏やかに見えますが、この時間帯から風が吹き始め、雪が飛ばされていました。

「今日は荒れそうですね～。リフト、ゴンドラ、動かせるかな？」「お客様はもちろんのこと、スタッフの皆さんも気をつけて！」そんな会話を交わして、それぞれの担当部署で業務を開始しました。

It looks calm in the picture, but the wind started blowing at this time of the day, and the snow was being blown away.

"Looks like it's going to be stormy today.  Will we be able to operate the lifts and gondola?"  "Please be careful, not only for the customers but also for the staff!"  After having such conversations, each of us headed to one's assigned sections and started our day.  

予感的中！天気予報どおり？ベースエリアは、このとおり、強風で雪が舞うわ、スキー板やボードが倒れるわ、視界が真っ白になり、人の姿も隠れてしまいました。危ない、危ない。

Our hunch was right!  Was the weather forecast right?  At the base area, as you can see, the strong winds were blowing snow around, skis and boards were falling over, visibility was completely white, and people were hidden in the snowstorm.  How dangerous...

こんな時は、屋内で待機して、風が止むのを待ちましょう！と誰もが思ったのか、お昼にはピザハウスLUISが急に混みあいました。事務所からも厨房にお手伝いに駆けつけるほど。

「風、早く止まないかな？」滑りたくてしょうがないお子さん達。「慌てずゆっくり、おいしいピザをいただきましょう。」とお母さん達。外は大荒れでしたが、店内は落ち着いて和やかな雰囲気でした。

ちなみに、今日、Line-Eが一時運転見合わせとなりましたが、その他のリフト、ゴンドラは減速で運行し続けました。お客様が強風の中、無事に滑ってこられて良かったです。そしてスタッフの皆さん、お疲れ様でした。

Let's go inside and wait until the winds stop!  I guess that's what everyone thought.  The pizza house LUIS was suddenly crowded.  They were so hectic that some staff rushed from the office to help in the kitchen.

"Won't the winds stop soon?  The children were eager to go outside.  "Let's take some time and enjoy the delicious pizza," said the mothers.  It was stormy outside, but the atmosphere inside was calm and peaceful.

Incidentally, Line-E was temporarily suspended today, but other lifts and gondola continued to operate at reduced speed all day.  We are relieved that our guests were able to ski or snowboard safely in such strong winds.  And we thank you to all the staff for your dedicated work.

雨な日にひらめいたキャンペーン！

ガッツリ終日雨でしたねー。

でも雨の日って板が走って中々滑りやすいんですよね。

気分的には、まぁ、ちょと上がらない感じもありますが、それってウエアが濡れちゃったり～なんて事もあると思いますが、とにかく雪面は調子よくて、他のお客さまも少ないので貸し切りなんですね。　ただウエアが濡れちゃう…。

It rained all day long.  Rainy days make it easier to ski/snowboard.  Rain does get you down sometimes because you get wet, but rain is not all bad.  Conditions of the slopes are just right when it rains, and you could have slopes all to yourself since there are not so many people on the slopes on rainy days.  What bugs you is that you get soaked...

って思っちゃうのは当然の流れ！

Well, it's absolutely natural to feel blue when you are soaked in the rain, but please do remember there is a place in Hakuba 47 where you can count on!!  Stop by at the rental shop to get a rain poncho!!  With the poncho on, you can enjoy skiing or snowboarding as much as you want without caring too much about getting wet.  "These ponchos are excellent!" says the shop manager.  Go to the rental shop if you need any help!!

雨の日は休憩もしたいですね。

そんなこんなで『47CAFE』に立ち寄りました！

以前にもご紹介しましたが、ここで出しているベーグルやケーキ、クッキーは全て手作り！

見た目も十分美味しそうなラインナップですが、特にはパウンドケーキがおススメです！！

そしてベーグルももっちり感たっぷりで美味しいんですが、今シーズンの数が決まっているとの事なのでシーズン後半は食べれないかも！！という事で早めに食べてみましょう～！！

It's a good idea to go inside and take a break on a rainy day as well.  With this thought in mind, I dropped by at 47 CAFE.  As I have ever mentioned, all baked goods sold here are handmade!  Everything looks good, and my recommendation is their pound cake!!  Their tasty Bagles are limited in the sales quantity, so you may want to hurry and try one of them!!  "Let's give our customers 100 yen off when they buy a set of drink and baked goods!"  We decided it on the spur of the moment.  Don't forget to tell the staff that you are following Hakuba 47 on Twitter, Facebook, or Blog to get a discount!!

It was such a beautiful day suitable for a festival of romantic love or chocolates!!

No matter how many times a year I see this view, I never get tired of it.  All my little worries will be gone by looking at this view.  Hope this view made all guests who visited Hakuba 47 today feel happy, too!  It also feels good to hear your voice echoing on the mountain.  Come to the mountain and try it.
