黄砂に負けず

ゲレンデでデュアルスノーボードをするミニオンを発見！ゲレンデ祭（コスチューム大会）は2週間前に終わったけれど…？ミニオンがスノーボードするなんて知らなかった。すごい能力を持っているんだな～。

Up on the mountain, I saw Minion with his dual snowboards on!  Our costume contest was over 2 weeks ago, though?  I didn't know he snowboards.  He has such a remarkable ability.

今日のお天気は、曇りに見えるけど、晴れだったはず。実はこれ、大量の黄砂が飛散して、空気がよどみ、遠くの景色が霞んで見えていたんです。

It looked cloudy, but the weather was supposed to be sunny today.  In fact, the air was stagnant and the distant scenery looked hazy due to the large amount of yellow sand flying around.

黄砂に負けず、小さな子供達がスキーの練習をしていました。ゲレンデ上部の雪も、黄砂に負けず、なんとか白さを保っていました。

Despite the yellow sand, small children were practicing their skiing.  Also, the snow on the upper slopes managed to keep its whiteness, despite the yellow sand.

学生や大人の方々も、黄砂に負けず、滑走を楽しまれていました。マスクはしていたけど、喉が痛くなったり、眼が痒くなったりしたのは、私だけでしょうか。帰宅後は、みなさん、洗眼とうがいをお忘れなく。

Students and adults alike were enjoying their runs, despite the yellow sand.  I wore a mask, but my throat and eyes were itchy.  Everyone, don't forget to wash your eyes and gargle when you get home.
